Kilimanjaro airport and drive to Arusha: Distance: 57Km | Travel Time: 1 hour.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you may be fortunate to catch a breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest peak in Africa. Our friendly transfer team will warmly welcome you and escort you to your accommodation located on the serene outskirts of Arusha Town. Day 2: Arusha to Lake Chala
After breakfast, you will leave Arusha and diverge to a goat trail to the north up to Mount Meru forest where you will have a stop for a nice view of Mount Meru and Arusha City. The ride will pass over gravels and newly tarmac roads which will take you near the Tanzanite Mining Shafts in Simanjiro District.Refueling at the small Maasai town shift before getting to a hidden gem, Hot Oasis, for a swim and lunch break. This ride will give you a nice view of Kilimanjaro Mountain as you are rotating Mount Kilimanjaro anticlockwise. You will arrive at Lake Chala in the evening for dinner and a campfire while enjoying cold drinks.

Day 3: Lake Chala to West Kilimanjaro
This day will be an awesome day since the ride will be from the Windward side of Mount Kilimanjaro to the leeward side of it. Two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo will be visible in the morning and evening. This is also a chance to pass over different Chagga people who are regarded as the typical conservators of Mount Kilimanjaro. On this day we will have a picnic lunch, and if we’re lucky we might be able to see mountain primates such as black and white Colum- bus monkeys and blue monkeys on the forest reserve. The ride will pass over earth road and newly tarmacked roads, the distance will be 140km and we will arrive at Maasai Lodge for dinner. The camp is situated in between Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru. You will have an awesome view of both old volcanic mountains.

Day 4: West Kilimanjaro to Lake Natron (Via Longido)
On this day, we will ride on the typical African roads; dust, sand and gravel up to the small town of Longido. This is an adventure ride on a very dusty trail way down into a huge gorge where resident wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and antelopes gather for grazing land and water. The last 50 km in this leg is a sandy and stony track cut in the rift.
While here, we are going to visit the largest soda ash lake, Lake Natron, Engare Sero waterfalls and views of Oldonyo Lengai. We will experience the Maasai culture, traditions and customs. Meals will be prepared in native way with high hygienic standards and Maasai warriors will give us a dance while enjoying the local barbeque prepared by the Maasai warriors.

Day 5: Lake Natron to Sonjo Tribe:
Located about 40 miles/64km west of Lake Natron, The Sonjo are a Bantu speaking people. About 30,000 Sonjo live in northern Tanzania in the Ngorongoro district, riding to their area you will get a chance to know better about this less Known indigenous tribe of Tanzania, who have lived there for centuries isolated within Maasai territory. You will learn astonishing culture about the Sonjo tribe, their gender roles, role of Music as well as their clothing.

Day 6: Lake Natron to Arusha (via Manyara)
After early breakfast, ride from Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge through gentle slopes at the foot of Oldoinyo Lengai to a famous little crater of Shimo la Mungu (a Swahili word for “god’s hole”) where you will have a 15mins break before going on with your ride through a Maasai village of Engaruka to a small township of Mto wa Mbu (near Lake Manyara National park) where you will have your picnic lunch and 1hr break. Just after your lunch break, your guide will lead your ride alongside Lake Manyara National Park through Makuyuni to Arusha.

Day 7: Departure:

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Chala
The adventure begins in Arusha, where riders gather for a pre-tour briefing, ensuring that motorcycles are well-equipped and ready for the thrilling journey ahead. From this bustling gateway to Tanzania’s wilderness, the road leads eastward towards Lake Chala; a breathtaking crater lake nestled on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The ride offers a mix of tarmac and off-road terrain, weaving through scenic farmlands and rugged landscapes. Upon arrival at Lake Chala, the serene waters provide a perfect backdrop for relaxation before settling into a lakeside lodge for the night.

Day 2: Lake Chala – Same
The next day, the journey continues from Lake Chala to same, traversing undulating hills and open plains. The ride follows remote trails lined with acacia trees, passing Maasai villages where locals herd their livestock. Along the way, riders encounter the rich biodiversity of Mkomazi National Park, an area known for its elephant herds, giraffes, and even the elusive African wild dog. Arriving in same, a charming town at the foothills of the Pare Mountains, the group settles in for a restful evening.

Day 3: Same – Lushoto Highlands
From same, the route ascends into the lush greenery of the Lushoto Highlands, a region famed for its rolling hills, cool climate, and vibrant Chagga communities. Winding roads carve through misty forests, revealing panoramic views of the Usambara Mountains. The day’s ride involves a mix of dirt trails and well-paved sections, ensuring an exhilarating mix of terrain. Arriving in Lushoto, the riders have the opportunity to interact with local villagers, learning about traditional farming methods and the history of German colonial settlements in the area.

Day 4: Lushoto Highlands – Maasai Steppe
Leaving the cool highlands behind, the journey transitions into the vast open landscapes of the Maasai Steppe. The ride descends through rugged trails, offering a stark contrast to the previous day’s lush surroundings. Riders navigate rocky paths, river crossings, and open savannahs dotted with Maasai homesteads. Along the way, the opportunity to interact with Maasai warriors and elders provides a deep cultural immersion, offering insight into their nomadic traditions, vibrant beadwork, and ancient cattle-herding practices. Evenings in the Maasai Steppe are spent around a campfire, sharing stories beneath the star-lit African sky.

Day 5-6: Maasai Steppe – Tarangire (Manyara Ecosystems)
Over the next two days, the route leads through the Manyara ecosystem and into Tarangire National Park, a region renowned for its large elephant population and iconic baobab trees. The ride meanders through winding trails, providing breathtaking views of wildlife corridors where zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes roam freely. Upon reaching Tarangire, the group transitions from two wheels to a safari vehicle for a full day of game driving. The safari offers incredible sightings of predators such as lions and leopards, as well as herds of elephants bathing in the Tarangire River. This slower-paced day allows riders to rest and absorb the raw beauty of Tanzania’s wild landscapes.
Day 7: Tarangire Manyara Ecosystem – Lake Eyasi
From Lake Eyasi, the tour heads north toward Lake Natron, an otherworldly landscape famous for its crimson-hued waters and flamingo populations. The ride is a challenging yet rewarding experience, navigating rocky escarpments and volcanic terrain formed by nearby Ol Doinyo Lengai, the “Mountain of God” in Maasai culture. Arriving at Lake Natron, riders can explore the area’s hidden waterfalls and alkaline shores, witnessing thousands of flamingos wading in the shallow waters. The night is spent in a remote eco-lodge, surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Great Rift Valley.
